Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepares, produces and presents food following established standards to meet or exceed guest expectations.
• Prepares all food items in accordance with established recipe and quality standards in a timely manner.
• Maintains established mise-en-place par levels and quality to ensure efficient food production throughout the shift(s).
• Effectively supports the culinary team during daily operations.
• Supports established service standards in the kitchen department.
• Supports and assist other associates and department to ensure the team’s overall success.
• Reports any sub standard product concerns immediately to kitchen management team.
• Promotes good working relations, intra and inter departmentally.
• Conforms to the Fire and Health and Hotel regulations and laws governing food and beverage operations.
• Reports any technical deficiencies to Maintenance and to the Kitchen management.
• Follows departmental protocol, sanitation, image and hygiene.
• To participate in meetings, training or otherwise relating to Optimus.
• Performs other duties as required .

Skills Requirement

Desirable

• Post secondary education in a Culinary program or related field
• Training and staff development experience
• First Aid certified

Essential Skills

• Knowledge of safe and sanitary holding temperatures and procedures
• Ability to use safe storage techniques following storage and rotation policies and procedures
• Ability to check the daily menu items in the kitchen including banquets to determine kind and quantity of items to prepare
• Ability to instruct and follow recipes and cooking guidelines
• Ability to work in a clean, organised manner with attention to detail
• Ability to communicate in English with management, co-workers and guests to their understanding
• Ability to provide legible written communication
• Ability to think clearly, analyse and problem solving
• Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding/difficult situations
• Ability to stand for five (5) hours continuously
